The Ecker Center for Mental Health is a private, not for profit community mental health center. It was founded in 1955, and it provides a full array of outpatient mental health services for residents of the northern two-thirds of Kane County and communities to the east. Learn More...

Services range from prevention to recovery and include: psychiatry, 24 hour crisis intervention, case management, rehabilitation services, individual, family and group therapy, educational groups, information and referral, and supervised, supported and subsidized residential programs. The Center's highly trained professional staff serve individuals with moderate to severe forms of mental illness ranging from mild depression to schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and severe depression. Last year the center served 3,540 people, primarily adults, but emergency services were also provided to children and adolescents.

Open hours are March - December, Wednesday through Saturday, 12 noon to 4 p.m. Admission is $3 adults, $1 students, members and children under 6 are FREE. The Museum is housed in an 1856 landmark building known as Old Main that was once part of the Elgin Academy, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum brings Elgin's rich heritage to life through interactive exhibits, local history publications, and all ages programming and events.

The Chorus consists of enthusiastic young people working as a team to learn great music and become seasoned performers. Our choristers are girls and boys (with unchanged voices) from 7 to 16 years old who share a love of singing. Our members develop music reading skills, critical listening abilities, and vocal skills. Singers also acquire teambuilding skills, discipline, and self-confidence. Members are from 29 cities (53 schools) throughout the Fox Valley Community.

Incorporated as an Illinois not-for-profit since 1966, it is the oldest performing arts organization in the Fox Valley area. It has been affiliated with Elgin Community College as an in residence ensemble since 1978. Audience members and singers come from over 30 surrounding communities performing three subscription programs annually as well as participating in numerous free community hospital, church and civic center events. Celebrating its 60th consecutive season, the Elgin Symphony Orchestra or ESO serves and engages a broad audience through the performance of powerful symphonic music, dynamic educational programs and strong community relationships. Learn More...

The ESO, its 69 musicians and administrative team accomplish this objective by annually performing nearly 50 concerts at the Hemmens Cultural and Festival Park in Elgin, as well as the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg. Based on the large number of performances the orchestra gives annually and its long-standing musical quality, the ESO is considered one of the leading professional orchestras in the state, and one of the largest regional organizations in the country.

The Illinois Council of Orchestras gave four awards to the ESO during 2009, including Conductor of the Year for a Professional Orchestra to Maestro Robert Hanson, Volunteer of the Year to Joyce McFarland Dlugopolski, and two special awards for 50 Years of Service to violist Sue Ollman and cellist Mark Kuntz. Hanson has served as the backbone of the Elgin Symphony for 35 years, and has demonstrated the ability to guide the organization through multiple phases of growth. He led the organization through the process of becoming Chicago's first professional suburban orchestra in 1985, and continues to lead the organization through unprecedented growth in programming and artistic excellence.

Every year, the ESO engages more than 10,000 youth from across the Chicago metro area through interactive school assemblies, two scholarships, discounted and free tickets, and a week-long musical education series called Kidz Konzerts.

Celebrating their 35th Anniversary, the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra's (EYSO) 2010-11 season explores a mysterious facet of great music and the composer's craft: sound in time. Since 1976, the EYSO has been challenging and inspiring young musicians with rich musical experiences. Today, the EYSO is the largest and oldest youth orchestra in northwest Illinois with 300 students from over 65 communities. Learn More...

Formed in 1999, this critically acclaimed ensemble consists of professional and professionally trained singers from the greater Northern Illinois area who came together to expand their love of music, to perform challenging and diverse literature, to offer their talents as guest artists for symphonies and other organizations, and to establish a strong community service component with an emphasis on educational outreach programming. They are committed to advancing the understanding and enjoyment of choral music to the next generation of musicians, and are proud to be able to feature many young choral ensembles at their concerts. They have been regularly featured as guest artists for the Illinois Chamber Symphony and the DuPage Opera Theatre.

Heartland Voices has performed at weddings, masses, nursing homes, local junior and senior high schools, and has joined with the Community Crisis Center, Boys and Girls Clubs, Mother Goose, the Resident Police of Elgin, Sherman Health Systems and the Larkin Center for community service projects. In October 2001, Heartland Voices was honored to join an elite number of ensembles when they performed for the Illinois Chapter of the American Choral Director's association, and were honored with an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall in April 2002.

Holy Trinity was officially incorporated on March 10, 1903 after beginning its ministry in the fall of 1902. Holy Trinity began worship services in English because there was a need for “the faith of the fathers in the language of the children.” The building was consecrated on January 27, 1907. In 1995, the facility was remodeled to allow the building to be barrier free. Today, Holy Trinity has about 500 members and is a grace-filled, welcoming congregation.

The center also features an adult transitional facility with 41 clients, outpatient family counseling in Spanish and English with 357 participants and a state-of-the art special education school for 99 students' grades 1-12.

All of our residential clients have been victims of physical, emotional and often sexual abuse. We provide structured 24 hour supervision, group and individual therapy, therapeutic school and group home responsibilities that establish a home environment.
